New Rules On MOT Testing For Light Vehicles

New Rules On MOT Testing For Light Vehicles

Due to the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus (COVID 19) and with the announcement that all light vehicles whose MOT fall on or before the 30 March can exercise a six-month extension, Wrexham Service Centre will not be taking any further MOT bookings. We will carry out all booked MOT’s and then we will shut until additional guidance is received from the Government.

NEW RULES FOR MOT TESTING FOR LIGHT VEHICLES

Due to the unfolding COVID-19 situation, cars and vans and motorcycles due their MOT from 30 March 2020 will have their MOT extended by six months.

The above ruling will continue until confirmed otherwise.

The purpose of this ruling is to allow vehicle owners to continue to be able to get to work where this absolutely cannot be done from home or do essential shopping.

Vehicles must be in a roadworthy condition at all times, and drivers can be prosecuted if they drive an unsafe vehicle.

The Government have produced two guides for the public to understand further this new ruling. You can view them by clicking the links below.
